Buried under all the creative intellectualism and “driving of the production-boat,” I just want to coax those little chemicals hibernating in the minds of the viewers...the awesome brain drugs we call emotions...to come out and forge a powerful relationship with the project. If people FEEL, everybody wins. A big part of my job is knowing which creative weapons are best for what project, be they basic storytelling, visual innovation, combining interesting styles or simply putting humanity on a pedestal.
I have a love for projects that feel epic, magical and give a sense of never- before-seen spectacle while maintaining a basic, clear story. It’s not just about the look or concept, but the psychological choreography it’s built around. This philosophy has worked out so far, attracting big talents, awards (MTV Movie Award nomination) and fun clients who have made for rewarding collaborations (Bad Robot, Warner Brothers, Sony). It has also provided other storytelling outlets, like editing theatrical movie trailers (Transformers, Grindhouse, Smokin Aces) and comic book writing (Aintitcool called my story “A brutal masterpiece” while another led to a 2010 Eisner Award for the POPGUN Anthology).
I am currently the Co-President of ZEROFRIENDS FILMS, the production branch of the religiously followed art/clothing company ZEROFRIENDS, stacked with a creative army of established artists who take on creatively special projects.
