Spent a week in England consulting on the epic action film K*******2. Went directly from LAX to our Google VRLA afterparty, in which I Creative Directed an elaborate experience (and Directed a wild VR adventure) for the top innovators in storytelling to play in.
Edgy ad agency TRAINROBBER and I went nuts crafting an experience that had to impress the most seasoned entertainment savants. It was a massive success and it goes a little something like this-
First, I designed a giant "neon wild west" camp-site. Tents, boulders, camp fires and cacti filled the 2nd floor of the beautiful venue. Patrons passed several VR / AR demo stations until reaching a giant treasure chest containing $2,000 cash. Next, they were escorted into a tee-pee and given a VR headset.
Audiences found themselves inside a 100% accurate virtual reality rendition of the tee-pee they were currently sitting in. It was peaceful and quiet until, BOOM, the tee-pee explodes away, leaving them hurdling thru space at light speed. An animated Train Robber chaotically flew around them, giving them clues on how to solve complex riddles hidden throughout the party, leading to numbers that unlock the $2,000 cash. It turned the party into a rabid scavenger hunt with Escape Room style puzzles hidden throughout. It was an incredible experience and extremely gratifying to watch industry titans behave like excited little children trying to solve our elaborate challenge while shy strangers befriended one another in sentimental teamwork to, 3 hours of hard work later, claim their treasure.
